A Saint Louis native, Stephen Mayer graduated from Fontbonne University with a degree in Business Administration. A keen interest in investing led Steve to gain his first experience in the industry in 2012 as a financial advisor for a large wirehouse. Throughout his time there he obtained several securities registrations, including his Series 7 and 66, along with life and health insurance licenses. Additionally, the knowledge and industry experience he gained helped develop his understanding and vision of how to best meet the investment related and financial planning needs of his clients.
By moving to the independent side of the industry in 2016, Steve was able to operate his business free from many of the conflicts of interest that are common when working as an employee of a large firm, and provide truly objective advice for clients who are serious about their long-term financial goals. In 2017, he took the next step in his pursuit to provide this objectivity by becoming a CFP® Board CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, indicating that he has fulfilled the board’s requirements for education and experience, passed the CFP® Certification Examination, and agreed to adhere to a high standard of ethics and professional conduct. The continuing education requirements of the CFP® certification continue to serve him well in his current roles as Financial Planner with West End Advisory Group.
While away from the office, Steve and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors with their daughter and lab/mastiff mix, Baldo.
